Campus Activities
​
On Clemson's campus, I have participated in numerous events in relation to the celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month and that of the Spanish culture. For example, I have participated in the language department's Day of the Dead events each year to experience the unique culture of Latin American Societies, through this celebration. I have also participated in activities such as the 2022 Latinx & Hispanic Online Film Series, and the 2021 Language and International Health Symposium.

While abroad, I took the opportunity to go to two dancing classes provided by a dance company in Spain, in relation to salsa and bachata. This was a great way to learn more of the cultural dances among these individuals and immerse myself with other Spanish language speakers.
Clemson Organizations
Sigma Alpha Lambda
This organization is a part of a larger national organization in which we strive to come up with ways to help provide community service, such as donating school supplies, etc. There are meetings every other week and activities are planned so members can grow closer together.
Volunteering Abroad
While studying abroad in Spain, I volunteered at a school, Colexio Divino Maestro, in Santiago de Compostela. I went to the school once every week for about 2 hours, and helped teach English to the spanish students there, through one on one instruction with students or presentations that I created about topics discussed in class, such as Spanish poetry or history of events in the United States. It was a great opportunity to learn from another culture, as well as teach some of the American culture to other individuals.
